Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is the “What’s Next?” Membership Program?

“What’s Next?” is a 12-month membership program from The Guidance Counselor for Grown Ups, designed to help you figure out “What’s Next?” for you. It’s about taking the best steps for you to get to where you want to be in the future.

The group will be limited to 12 members so you’ll have lots of interaction with Joanne along the way.

Q2. Who is this membership program for?

Anyone who is wanting to improve their professional and personal life!

Many people may know me from working in the meeting and events industry. However, the “What’s Next?” membership is of my separate business, The Guidance Counselor for Grown Ups, which works with people from many different backgrounds, jobs, life situations, and ages.

This membership program is open to adults of all ages and gender identities.

Q3. What is included in the price I pay for registration?

Starter Kit that includes a Guidebook, “Plan Like it’s Tomorrow” a personal planner, and a teacup/coffee cup

- Six Workshops two hours each (see below)

- Six Guiding Sessions (see below)

- Monthly packages for you (helpful stuff, fun stuff, and who knows what else!)

Q4. How much does it cost?

The total price is $1,600 USD

There are two different payment options for you to choose from:

1.) Pay in full - $1,600 at registration

2.) Payment Plan - $300 at registration

If you would like to pay the $1,600 over time, select the payment plan option at registration. There is a $300 payment at the time of registration. If you would like to discuss a payment plan before you register, contact me at Joanne@JoanneDennison.com. Payment plans can be personalized to fit your current situation.

Q5What is a Guiding Session?

Guiding Sessions are one-on-one time with me to discuss whatever it is that you are working toward. Topics are decided by you and can be on a variety of areas of your life. For example, it could be help with job search, handling difficult situations, contributing more, being a better leader, communicating better with people in your life, etc.

Guiding sessions can be scheduled based on when you need them. You can spread your sessions out equally throughout the months or use them all in one month. It really is based on when you need them!

Q6. How soon can I schedule my Guiding Sessions?

You can schedule your first one as soon as you register or wait until after the first workshop to do a deeper dive into what we worked on.

Q7. What is a Workshop?

Workshops are live two-hour virtual sessions in which you will be working with Joanne and other “What’s Next?” members on a specific topic area. You have a choice to share as much or as little as you like in the workshop. It’s not just me talking at you.

All 2024 workshops are scheduled for Sunday, 1:00-3:00 PM Eastern Time.

I will do my best to stick to these dates, but they are subject to change. If you miss any workshop, you will have access to it by recording, unlimited for up to a year.

Q8. What are the topics for the workshops?

These are some of the areas we’ll be talking about, some will be the focus of the workshop, some will be included in other workshops.

Some of the topics that will be included are: Rearranging Priorities, Best is a Moving Target, Your ROI, Delegating, Boundaries, Procrastination, and more.

Q9. What if I cannot attend a workshop live?

Not to worry! All workshops will be recorded and made available for members to watch on their own time. However, it’s strongly recommended that you try to attend all workshops live in order for you to get the best possible experience.

Q10. How much time would I need to commit to the membership program?

Workshops are about “hands on" work---you will actually be working on things during it. You will not just be listening to me talk and hoping you get around to implementing it later. During the months that have workshops, you can expect to spend 4-5 hours. There are 1-2 hours of pre-work (varies according to you and your life), time in the workshop (2 hours), and then applying what you learned to your life. That last part may take a small amount of specific time, but the rest is living your life---doing it. No need to fit it in. It becomes part of your life, no special time needed.

The other six months it is taking the time to let new thoughts and actions settle in.

Q11. What is the Registration and Cancellation Policy?

You must be registered and paid in full for your membership to start, unless a payment plan has been agreed upon. All registrations are final and are good for one person to attend. There is not a discount if you start your membership later in the year, if you cannot attend all six workshops, or if you do not use all six guiding sessions before the end of the membership year. If you are not able to attend a live workshop, you will have access to its recording and worksheets.

Q12. When can I expect to receive my starter kit and monthly packages?

Starter Kits will be mailed out in May 2024, or later depending on when you registered. You can expect to receive your monthly packages in the first half of each month.

Shipping within the US and Canada will take around 10-14 business days.

International shipping outside of the US and Canada will take longer and may have an additional shipping fee. Please contact joanne@joannedennison.com for more information.

Q13. What if I’m not sure if a 12-month membership is right for me?

You can register to attend Workshop 1 on May 1 as a "trial" for a fee of $75. Non-members will not be able to receive the materials or have access to the recording. If you decide to become a member, this $75 will be applied to a full membership.

The first workshop will be the only one that non-members will be allowed to attend.

Q14. What if I start the membership later in the year?

You can start the membership at any time up until May 31, but the year is retroactive.

You will have access to all workshop recordings and worksheets from before you started the membership and monthly packages will be sent to you.
